After Kohina Ichimatsu calls up the fox spirit Kokkuri-san, he becomes concerned about the girl living alone and settles in to look after her. Their quiet household soon attracts other supernatural visitors.
Kokkuri-san is not especially good at answering questions with modern technology, but he is meticulous about housework and tries to improve Kohina’s meals and habits. Inugami, a dog spirit devoted to Kohina, and Shigaraki, a disreputable tanuki spirit, also move in.

Kohina calls herself an emotionless doll, even while displaying an enthusiasm for cup noodles. Kokkuri-san responds with the strict care of a parent, declaring that she should have three meals and fifty ingredients a day. Their household is caught between the way Kohina describes herself and the care he thinks she needs.
