Creatures called Aragami have devastated civilisation, consuming material that ordinary weapons cannot defend. Fenrir fights them with God Arcs, living weapons built from the same Oracle cells. Lenka Utsugi arrives at its Far East Branch determined to become one of the fighters who can use them.
The weapon does not give him immediate freedom to act. Lenka and fellow recruit Kota undergo demanding training under Tsubaki Amamiya, while experienced fighters operate as a unit. The organisation’s need to keep people alive puts a boundary around his impatience to reach the battlefield.

Lenka’s urgency soon runs into that boundary: after rushing into combat to help an injured fighter, he is hurt himself and detained for disobeying orders. His determination is real, but the people directing a mission must account for more than the enemy immediately in front of him. Learning to fight also means learning what his decisions expose other people to.
