The Apothecary Diaries film has revealed a new trailer and named Kenshi Yonezu’s “Haru ga Tomori” (春が灯り) as its theme song. The 22 October announcement includes Yonezu’s comments on developing the music for the film.
Yonezu says he read the screenplay while developing the song, drawing on the children’s songs “Tulip” and “Antagata Dokosa”. The announcement also describes discussions with original author Natsu Hyuga and director Norihiro Naganuma.
The new key visual brings Maomao and Jinshi together with the film’s new characters. Jinshi holds a sword, while scattered petals and lettering point towards the mystery surrounding the deceased consort and her final wish.
The film, 劇場版 薬屋のひとりごと 亡妃の秘宝 (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bōhi no Hihō), follows Maomao and Jinshi south to return a consort’s body to her homeland. Her death five years earlier, a hidden treasure and a band of pirates draw them into a new mystery. Its previously announced 11 December 2026 cinema opening is for Japan.
The earlier programme announcement outlined the planned reveal; the new notices now supply the trailer, theme-song details and visual.
