A schoolgirl is reborn as a small spider monster in a dungeon full of creatures stronger than she is. Human ingenuity has to work with an unfamiliar body: webs, traps and acquired skills become tools for staying alive. Her first problem is surviving long enough to understand her surroundings.
She makes a web home and begins to gain levels by defeating monsters, only for arriving humans to set the shelter alight. What looks like a threat to a human adventurer is her attempt to build somewhere safe. The dungeon changes meaning when its resident is the person whose survival matters.
Her own species is no refuge either. Newly hatched spiders eat one another, and the mother spider also threatens her. Rebirth has placed her in a family without giving her protection, making the first demand of independence unusually immediate.
