HIGHSPEED Étoile
HIGHSPEED Étoile
Rin Rindo enters NEX Race, a competition whose machines can exceed 500 kilometres per hour. Established teams are trying to defeat its dominant champion when the new Buzen Racing entrant arrives. Rin has to find her place in a sport already organised around experienced rivals.
Rin once hoped to become a ballet dancer, but an injury ended that plan. Before racing, she was living at her grandmother’s home and spending her time gaming. Her debut is a change of direction after a broken ambition, rather than the final step in a lifelong racing career.
Rin enters a paddock with its own hierarchy and public image. Drivers appear in coordinated suits that display team names and sponsors; even before a car moves, their clothing identifies them as representatives of competing organisations. The contrast with Rin’s earlier life at her grandmother’s home makes joining Buzen Racing a change in daily surroundings as well as a new ambition.
