Dorohedoro
ドロヘドロ
Caiman has a lizard's head and no memory of who gave it to him. With his friend Nikaido, he hunts sorcerers who use the people of the Hole to practise their magic. The identity mystery mixes grotesque violence with friendships, local customs and arguments over food.
Nikaido runs the Hungry Bug restaurant and makes the gyoza Caiman loves. She is also strong enough to join him in fights, so their partnership includes both dangerous work and somewhere to eat afterwards. The restaurant gives his search a regular point of return, with an ordinary appetite surviving inside a body he still cannot explain.
The sorcerers have working partnerships of their own. Shin is a killer employed by En, a powerful sorcerer and businessman; Noi is Shin’s partner, with magic that can heal what other people break. Their combination of destruction and repair gives Caiman’s opponents skills and loyalties beyond simply being targets for his search.
