Hitori practises guitar alone and longs to play in a band, but finds talking to other people painfully difficult. An encounter with drummer Nijika brings her into Kessoku Band. The skills she has developed in isolation now have to work in rehearsals and performances with strangers.
Nijika’s first invitation is only for a day as a support guitarist. Hitori is being asked to join a performance before she has found a way to speak comfortably to the other musicians. The encounter gives her a place in a band without instantly resolving the difficulty that kept her practising alone.
Playing a show also means meeting the venue’s ticket quota. Hitori starts working at STARRY to help cover that obligation, bringing her social difficulty into a job that cannot be practised alone in her bedroom. The band’s cheerful invitation opens onto ordinary work: handling a shift and dealing with people become part of keeping the music possible.
