Carole & Tuesday

キャロル&チューズデイ

Carole and Tuesday stand at the centre of a group above the series title.

On a colonised Mars where artificial intelligence produces much of the culture, Carole and Tuesday want to make music themselves. Carole works to get by in the capital; Tuesday comes from a wealthy home where her ambition is not understood. Their chance meeting brings those different lives together.

Tuesday moves into Carole’s flat, where they begin making music together. Carole wants to hear the song they have written on a proper piano, so they choose the Mars Immigration Memorial Hall as the place to try it. Their first steps as a duo involve finding somewhere to play as well as writing the music.

Their instruments fit into the same modest room as the rest of Carole’s life. Tuesday sits with an acoustic guitar opposite Carole at the keyboard, with the space between them left open for the song they are making. Against Mars’s industrial production of music, the partnership begins with two people able to hear and answer one another directly.
