PIERROT FILMS will produce the animation for the Yona of the Dawn sequel. Pierrot’s animation-production brand was named by publisher Hakusensha in its 20 October announcement, accompanying the release of Hana to Yume magazine’s latest issue and the manga’s final volume in Japan.

The sequel was first announced on 19 December 2025. This update names the animation-production brand but does not give a release date or episode count, confirm returning cast, or establish how much of the manga it will adapt.

Mizuho Kusanagi’s fantasy follows Yona, a princess forced from her sheltered life in the kingdom of Kouka. Travelling with her protector Hak, she must learn to survive outside the palace and confront the struggle over her country’s future. The original television anime aired from October 2014 to March 2015.
