Two childhood friends search for a treasure said to be valuable enough to end a long war, beginning an adventure that later passes to the next generation.
Allison’s arrival by aeroplane interrupts Wil’s school life during an uneasy truce. Following an old man’s claim about a treasure puts their friendship into the political geography of a divided continent. The series later moves to Allison’s daughter Lillia, making the passage between generations part of this one adaptation rather than a separate sequel profile.

Allison and Wil bring a shared childhood to the journey before it becomes a matter of borders or military secrets. Having grown up together gives the treasure story a relationship to test, rather than requiring their trust to begin with the stranger who tells it.
