君の名は。

Mitsuha's mountain-town routines and Taki's Tokyo school and restaurant shifts become each other's problem when they begin swapping bodies. Notes and rules help them manage the lives they borrow, but their mistakes also bring them closer. Practical comedy grows into a romantic mystery, carried by pop songs and sudden emotional turns.
Mitsuha lives with her grandmother and younger sister, and the family's shrine customs are among the duties she wants to escape. Her father is the town's mayor, whose election campaign adds to her frustration. Tokyo already represents a desired alternative before the body-swapping begins, giving her borrowed city life an attraction beyond its strangeness.

Borrowing a body also means being seen by people who already know its owner. Classmates, family and co-workers notice behaviour that the visitor cannot explain away simply by waking up. The comedy comes from two unfamiliar people having to maintain one another’s ordinary relationships. Their written exchanges can be irritated and practical as well as intimate, letting a connection develop through the consequences of small mistakes.
