A man is reborn in a fantasy world as a slime, a creature usually treated as weak. His new form brings unusual abilities and encounters with other inhabitants. As Rimuru, he begins building relationships that turn an individual second chance into a community’s story.
An early encounter with the Storm Dragon Veldora becomes an exchange of names. Veldora calls the slime Rimuru, while Rimuru gives them both the family name Tempest. The new identity begins through a relationship with another inhabitant of the world, before a wider community forms around it.
Helping a goblin village soon raises questions about food, clothes and shelter. Rimuru visits the nation of Dwargon looking for artisans who can teach the community how to provide them. Building a settlement therefore depends on finding skills and sharing knowledge, rather than treating every new problem as another fight.
