Hunters earn a living fighting monsters inside dungeons, and their power usually stays fixed. After a disastrous raid, Sung Jinwoo gains a private system of quests that lets him grow stronger. Battles and dangerous upgrades follow his progress while other hunters continue to judge him by his old rank.
On an early C-rank raid, Jinwoo is recruited to fill out the party's numbers. He notices that the group has brought no healer, even as its members make steady progress through the dungeon. Experience gained while surviving as a weak hunter gives him a reason to question whether an apparently successful expedition is properly prepared.
Yoo Jinho is a D-rank hunter and the son of a construction-company president. He wants the licence and raid record needed to become a guildmaster and win his father's recognition. His proposed partnership gives Jinwoo another person's ambition to negotiate, alongside the System's private demands.
