Princess Tutu

プリンセスチュチュ

Genres:DramaFantasy
Princess Tutu dances in a white and pink ballet costume.

Ahiru is a struggling ballet student who wants to dance with Mytho, a boy whose heart has been lost. Transforming into Princess Tutu lets her search for its missing pieces. Ballet and fairy-tale magic become ways of approaching emotions that the prince can no longer feel.

Ahiru’s difficulty at school matters alongside her magical role: she cannot simply rely on being an accomplished dancer. A duck’s dream of a lonely dancing prince becomes a conditional chance to help him. The ordinary student and the storybook rescuer have different demands to meet.

Mytho’s missing heart has practical consequences before anyone explains all its magic. When he tries to help a little bird, he falls from a dormitory window, and Ahiru rushes to save him. Her wish to dance with him is already entangled with the need to keep him safe.
