A jungle boy’s home life becomes impossible to explain when his mother brings home a girl who reveals a monstrous, reality-bending side only to him.
Hare lives in a village whose hunting-and-gathering lifestyle coexists with televisions and games. Guu adds a stranger contradiction: being swallowed by her can lead into another inhabited world. Returning to the household does not make the experience easier to share with adults who see an ordinary girl.

The adult’s affectionate gesture treats both children as members of the same household. The paired portrait gives Hare and Guu rather different expressions within that arrangement. For Hare, being expected to share an ordinary family life is precisely the difficulty when his new companion does not behave like an ordinary person.
