Mitsumi Iwakura moves from a small rural school to a demanding Tokyo high school with her future carefully planned. Studying comes more easily than navigating the city or reading her classmates. Her friendship with the easygoing Shima begins when the first day goes badly off schedule.
On the morning she expects to get everything right, Mitsumi takes the wrong train and gets lost. Shima, wearing the same school uniform, notices her at the station. Their first conversation starts with a practical problem before either knows what the other will be like in class.
Mitsumi raises a fist against a skyline packed with buildings, her phone still in her other hand. The city changes the physical scale of her surroundings as well as her social world. Her confident pose gives the move an optimistic face, even while getting from one place to another is becoming a new skill.
