Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade

人狼 JIN-ROH

Kazuki Fuse stands beneath a blue night sky.

After a deadly police operation, Kazuki Fuse is sent for re-evaluation in an alternate postwar Tokyo. He meets Kei Amemiya while struggling with what happened. Their growing connection unfolds amid rival police interests and a government crackdown, making personal loyalty difficult to separate from the demands of his armed unit.

Fuse's crisis begins when he encounters a girl in the sewers during an operation against a Sect demonstration. Ordered to shoot, he hesitates; his own unit then questions and retrains him. The film places a moment of individual judgement inside an organisation that demands obedience, before Kei becomes part of his life.

Two armoured police officers wear respirators and glowing red lenses beside a brick wall.

The unit’s armour gives the conflict a second, impersonal face. Respirators hide mouths, red lenses cover eyes, and ammunition hangs across the heavy suits. Against that equipment, Fuse’s unarmoured face in the opening portrait offers a different way of looking at the same profession. The film’s alternate history is made tangible through what its police wear and carry, before the competing institutions have explained their plans.
