A young sky pirate finds Ren among stolen treasure and joins her journey to Edel Garden, pursued by people who want the power she carries.
Ren is an Edel Raid, a person whose extraordinary combat power makes her valuable to others. Cou’s decision to accompany her turns a pirate discovery into a travelling partnership, with the protection agency Arc Aile following their route. The journey gives battles a specific stake: whether Ren can choose her own destination while competing groups regard her as something to acquire.
Cou begins with the confidence of an aspiring pirate and very little understanding of what he has found. The first episode’s shipboard scene puts that bravado in view before the journey forces him to learn how protection differs from possession. Ren’s destination supplies the route, while allies and pursuers repeatedly complicate it. A fantasy road adventure is the immediate draw, with their unequal knowledge adding friction to the partnership.
