Goku has a young son, Gohan, when an armoured visitor from space disrupts his family's quiet life. Raditz claims a connection to Goku's origins and takes Gohan hostage. Rescuing the child forces Goku to work with Piccolo, a rival who has his own reason to fear the newcomer.
The opening moves the source of danger beyond Earth without leaving family responsibilities behind. Gohan's hidden strength complicates the adults' plans, and alliances form around threats no single fighter can handle alone. This is the long original Z television adaptation; Kai revisits much of that story through a different edit.

Two armoured figures stand together in a rocky landscape, wearing matching kinds of protective clothing and eye-mounted devices. Their shared equipment makes the visitors look like members of a wider fighting culture. The image expands the scale of the opening encounter: Raditz's arrival belongs to a world of organised power beyond the fighters Goku already knows.
