Dr. Gero’s death has not ended the machinery working against Goku. Androids 14 and 15 appear with orders to kill him, and Android 13 joins the attack. Goku, Trunks and Vegeta face the new androids in a battle that moves to an icy northern landscape.
The three Super Saiyans in the Japanese title are Goku, Trunks and Vegeta. Bringing them together gives the film several fighters to set against Gero’s surviving project, rather than a solitary chase after Goku. It is a separate 1992 theatrical story, so its androids should not be mistaken for another block of television episodes.

The red-and-cream action artwork puts a fighter and his opponent at the point of impact, while the cover gathers the three Saiyans and the androids in one frame. Together they identify the film’s emphasis on direct confrontation. The important setup is that Gero’s project persists beyond its creator, giving Goku’s companions an enemy to face alongside him.
