Castle in the Sky

天空の城ラピュタ

Sheeta smiles among white doves.

A young miner, Pazu, meets Sheeta after she falls from the sky carrying a mysterious crystal. Pursued by pirates and the military, they search for Laputa, a floating city. Their escape becomes an adventure in which an old legend attracts people with very different intentions.

The crystal connects Sheeta with the mysterious city and attracts powerful pursuers. Pazu joins her search, but pirates and government agents want to reach the same destination. Finding Laputa therefore requires the children to decide whom to trust while staying ahead of people who want control of it.

Pazu first has to help a person, rather than solve the legend. He catches Sheeta as she descends, then holds her while the blue light around the crystal stands out against the dark mining settlement. The opening joins an impossible sight with an immediate physical responsibility: the stranger from the sky is someone he must keep from falling.
