Witch on the Holy Night adds IMAX to its Japanese opening

Witch on the Holy Night will screen in IMAX in Japan from 20 November 2026, the same day as its general theatrical opening. The film’s official website confirmed the format in a 29 October announcement and released a new IMAX visual.

The opening date was already set; the new announcement adds IMAX availability from day one. It does not announce an IMAX rollout outside Japan.

The film is ufotable’s adaptation of the TYPE-MOON visual novel, written by Kinoko Nasu. Its story follows Aoko Aozaki, an apprentice magician living with Alice Kuonji, and her encounter with Soujyuro Shizuki.

For Indian viewers, the general theatrical release is already scheduled for 29 January 2027. That date appears in Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment’s 10 September worldwide release announcement. The new Japanese IMAX notice does not establish Indian IMAX screenings or cinema bookings.
