A boy's attempt to revive his dead cat draws a sheltered girl into a second life that turns his zombie fantasies into a responsibility.

Chihiro's fascination with the undead looks different when Rea becomes someone he must help rather than imagine. The premise combines an unusual romance with the practical limits of a deteriorating body and a girl's wish to live beyond a controlling home.

Chihiro begins with an enthusiast's fantasy; Rea needs room to make choices about the life she has. That mismatch gives the zombie premise a particular tension. Keeping someone physically safe and allowing her an ordinary day are related concerns, but they do not always lead to the same decision. The rain-soaked figure in the lead keeps Rea's ordinary appearance beside the more uncanny promotional composition. The story includes family abuse and sexualised material alongside its romance. Begin with the television season; the unaired episode13 and manga-bundled stories are separately released additions, rather than evidence that every listing contains the same twelve episodes.
