A clumsy girl joins a struggling DIY club, discovering that making things with other people can change the distance between friends.
Serufu and her practical childhood friend Purin enter different high schools. A bicycle repair introduces Serufu to the DIY club, where tools, mistakes and shared projects offer a new route into participation.

A finished object records a chain of choices that a bought replacement can hide. Measuring, joining and repairing also give the club members reasons to ask for help and explain what they mean. Serufu's willingness and lack of coordination make that cooperation necessary. The twelve-episode original television story keeps its school project and friendship concerns together; the live-action adaptation is a separate version.
