An indoor-minded new student is drawn into a seaside fishing club, where catching dinner is only the beginning of learning what to do with it.

Hina hopes to join a handicrafts club after moving to the coast. Instead, an encounter with the Breakwater Club puts her among anglers whose practical enthusiasm challenges her discomfort with living creatures.

A short-haired girl in a straw hat looks startled against a stylised dark background.
The new member's hesitation is part of learning the club's routines. (C)小坂泰之(秋田書店)/海野高校ていぼう部

Fishing gives the club a sequence of concrete problems: choosing tackle, reading a place, handling a catch and preparing food. Hina's hesitation makes those tasks an entry point rather than knowledge the audience must already possess. The companions have different habits, so instruction also becomes a way of spending time together. The twelve television episodes form the anime's scope.
