A saxophonist leaves Sendai for Tokyo and starts a jazz trio with a gifted pianist and a friend who is only beginning to learn the drums.
Dai’s commitment is already intense before he has a professional place to put it. Forming JASS means turning that individual drive into something three musicians can make together. Their uneven experience gives practice and live performance different pressures, while the ambition to play at a major club provides a concrete goal beyond being noticed.

Years of solitary riverside practice have given Dai a sound he can demonstrate even though he cannot read sheet music. Yukinori initially brushes off his invitation to form a band, then changes his mind after hearing him play. Before JASS can earn a club audience, Dai has to reach another musician whose cooperation he needs.
