A girl living with a family in Okinawa is drawn into a war against blood-feeding creatures while searching for the past she cannot remember.

Saya Otonashi has no memories from more than a year ago. An attack and the arrival of the cello-playing Haji return her to a conflict already connected to her identity.

For Saya, recovering the past is not simply a chance to fill in a biography. It can change what the ordinary life around her means and what others expect her to do. Haji’s arrival connects that uncertainty to a conflict with its own history and organisations. Consider it for a long supernatural action drama in which protecting present relationships and understanding an obscured identity repeatedly meet. The everyday Okinawan setting gives the wider pursuit a specific home from which to begin.
