Three ghostly tales bring betrayal, forbidden attachment and a monstrous mystery into different historical worlds.
Yotsuya Kaidan follows the wrongs surrounding Oiwa; Tenshu Monogatari places a human visitor among supernatural castle dwellers; Bakeneko brings a medicine seller into a haunted household. The anthology changes its cast and presentation between arcs.

The title groups three stories rather than one continuing adventure. Their supernatural threats emerge from different relationships: domestic betrayal, an encounter across a human boundary and a household whose danger demands investigation. That structure lets a short run change its visual and dramatic approach without asking every story to share a protagonist. Consider it for a compact historical horror anthology, keeping the final Bakeneko arc distinct from the later Mononoke television series that follows its medicine seller.
