Three schoolgirls form a club for pastimes, turning casual games and insecure attempts to fit in into increasingly unreasonable competitions.
Olivia’s appearance leads others to assumptions about her English, while Kasumi and Hanako bring their own anxieties to the group. Simple games are enough to expose those misunderstandings. The club is less a disciplined activity than a place where its members can intensify one another’s worst ideas.
The pale outdoor artwork gives the trio an airy setting, while the episode still returns two of them to a classroom. Their apparent ordinariness makes the competitive premise more pointed. Small rules and gestures can become the beginning of an argument when everyone brings a different insecurity to the game.
