A banana-obsessed schoolgirl pursues food, play and her childhood friend with an enthusiasm untouched by her disastrous test results.
Yoshiko can score zero across her subjects without treating it as a reason to change. Akkun’s attempts to impose order give her appetite for fun a persistent obstacle. Their classmates and families expand the disagreement into a small social world of people unable to keep her on a sensible course.
The airborne banana chase gives Yoshiko’s priorities a literal target. The classroom still puts her beside an exasperated Akkun, with a book and a discarded peel close at hand. Studying and appetite occupy the same space without receiving anything like equal attention.
