After a mysterious wind erases humanity’s memories, a young man who has learned to speak and think again travels across America with a stranger.
Wataru’s recovery gives him a way to investigate what remains of a civilisation that its inhabitants can no longer explain. Travelling with Sophia exposes him to different responses to the same collapse. The journey asks what people can preserve or rebuild when language, social habits and the stories connecting them have been taken away.
