A Tree of Palme

A wooden puppet carrying a mysterious egg sets out for an underground world, where he hopes to become human after meeting a girl who recalls someone he has lost.

Palme’s journey begins when an injured warrior entrusts him with an object he does not fully understand. Encounters along the way turn the task into a personal wish, especially after he meets Popo. Wanting to be human gives the destination a meaning for him that may differ from the purpose of the thing he is carrying.

Palme’s wish to become human gives the journey a personal goal beyond delivering a mysterious object. Meeting Popo and the other children turns that wish toward relationships whose losses and needs he does not initially understand.
